Barbara Bashlow Gross is an East Coast artist. She has spent the last decade living between NYC, Westchester, Connecticut and the Hudson Valley.

Her work explores themes of power and stillness. She explores these ideas through figures and landscapes, always looking at the way opposing forces impact one another. Her process involves a combination of drawing and color exploration driven primarily by emotion. Her goal is to evoke a feeling or a combination of feelings in the viewer.  She works primarily in acrylic, oil paint and charcoal.

Her work has been shown widely throughout the United States. Her work is held in many public and private collections.

Born in New York City, she received her BA in Philosophy at New York University, completed a three year Certification program and the New York Studio School and an MSW from Columbia University.
