Fred Poisson
Untitled 6.6.22 - 60 × 40 inches - Watercolor on Paper
Fred Poisson is a New York City-based visual artist whose work examines the simple, abstract essence. Employing both traditional and non-traditional materials and techniques, he navigates the intersection of art and science to develop proprietary methods and paints.
His aesthetic sensibility focuses on achieving minimal solutions while expressing an appreciation for the simplicity of form. Poisson's investigative approach reflects an openness to new ideas and a readiness to abandon others when necessary.
As a young artist, Poisson studied with the Swiss artist Claude Saucy, who was himself a student of Max Bill and the Bauhaus school. After years working as a Designer he returned to painting in 2010 and moved to abstraction in 2019. Poisson has lived on four continents and in the South Pacific. He currently lives and works in New York City and has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions. He holds a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design.
